Pop Art-Abstract

The theme of my utility box artwork, Pulse of PVD, is energy, rhythm, and movement. This piece celebrates the creative heartbeat of Providence — its bold spirit, layered identity, and forward motion — through an abstract, street-inspired lens.

As a self-taught street artist, my work is rooted in graffiti culture and shaped by the visual language of the city. I draw inspiration from bold voices like the founders of OBEY and KAWS, whose work fuses street art with pop iconography, vibrant color, and strong emotional impact. I use abstract illustration to express motion and emotion — layering shapes, symbols, and textures that reflect both chaos and harmony.

In this design, I’ve chosen a dynamic palette, — neon orange, lime, lilac, yellow, red, grey, blue, hot pink — to reflect the vibrancy and diversity of Providence. Circular patterns represent rhythm and unity. Arrows signal momentum and transformation. Drip paint embodies freedom and fluid creativity. “Pow” shapes, drawn from comic and pop art, add bursts of energy and impact — echoing the pulse of street life and bold self-expression. Bold lines and pop-style highlights tie the entire composition together, creating a piece that invites curiosity and interaction.

This is not a literal portrait of Providence, but a visual interpretation of its pulse — what it feels like to walk, create, and connect in a city alive with color and culture.
